THE SUSPECTS.
Joseph Barnett
Joseph Barnett was one of the main suspect in the case of Jack The Ripper. He was born in 1858 and was exactly 30 years old in the year of the killings which was 1888. He was a local of Britian and his family worked in the proffesion of fish porting. He was tall ( 5'7) , was of a medium build, had a moustache and blue eyes. An evidence of guilt through which can say he was the ripper was Jospeh was that ginger beer bottles ( this was mentioned in the "Dear Boss Letter") were found on 13 Miller's Court on Novemeber 9. He was a fish porter which required him to bone and gut fish. This means that (a) he would probably carry a knife to and from work with him and (b) he would have some surgical ability. If he was the Ripper, his previous actions towards prostitutes would explain his reasons to aim his violence towards them. He blamed them for Mary Jane Kelly (See Victims page) becoming a prostitues. That would explain why the Mary Jane Kelly murder was more violent than the rest of the JTR victims and why the murders stopped afterwards because he had already killed her so there was no point continuing the murders.
Montague Druitt
Montague Druitt was a graduate of the Winchester collage and he was an avid sportsman. Druitt was one of the suspects that were questioned the most at the time. He was found in Thames River in December 31, 1888, however, there is very little evidence of his guilt.
